“ The Dumplings are especially great . Their spicier options aren't terribly spicy but do have good flavor. Their shrimp is a really good size and quality. The portions are on the small side tho, so you may need to order more than you think ! ”

“ On the outside, you think it was closed, but once you open the door you can smell the food. Though the ambiance is extremely sparse, the young lady that greeted us was extremely friendly and attentive. Not much in the choice of drinks, but the fresh cooked to order and authentic tasting food more than made up for everything else. There was nothing we didn't like. ”

The food was different from some of the normal places, in a good way. I had the General Tso's chicken, and it was really flavorful; the sauce was more savory and less sweet than I have had from other places. We also had some of the crab rangoons, and similarly they were less sweet, letting more of the crab flavor come through. The egg rolls were pretty standard, but good. Service was fast and friendly. “ I had lunch here on a Tuesday. There were 3 or 4 other customers who came and went while I dined in. I am spoiled by great Asian food in Champaign, but this was surprisingly good for Paxton. They have all the very typical Szechuan dishes, with the place-mat style printed red & black paper menu identical to thousands of other fast Chinese places. The restaurant has photos on a menu board to assist people in ordering who are unfamiliar with Chinese dishes and there was a steam-table, not being used when I was there at lunch, so I don't know wheter a buffet is served at other times or on other days. I'm giving it 4 stars for surviving with a decent Asian choice in this white-bread Ford County town. ”
