Now, let’s dive into the food—a veritable feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly cooked dishes is sure to awaken your appetite. Customers rave about the Dumplings, which deliver bursts of flavor in every bite. Honest R. mentions how the dumplings shine, with just enough spice to captivate the palate without overwhelming it. If you like seafood, their Crab Rangoon offers a unique, less sweet take that lets the crab's natural flavors shine through.
If you're after something heartier, the portions of the Beef and Broccoli have not gone unnoticed—Dana R. notes that this dish packs a punch of flavor and generous servings. For those yearning for a touch of heat, try the General Tso’s Chicken, highlighted by Brandon S. for its savory sauce that breaks from the overly sweet rendition found elsewhere. Each dish is prepared with attention to detail, ensuring that you savor both the authenticity and the unique twist that Super Wok brings to classic Chinese fare.
Despite its unassuming exterior, the warmth of the staff and the quality of the food create a welcoming dining environment that you won't soon forget. Teri S. captures the essence of Super Wok perfectly—the friendly service pairs well with the authentic taste that keeps customers coming back for more. And while some reviews point out that portion sizes lean towards the smaller side, the rich flavors and quality ingredients make the experience well worth it.
In an area where Chinese cuisine can often feel standard, Super Wok breaks the mold. With flavors that surprise and a dedication to quality that is palpable in every dish, it's no wonder visitors describe it as “the best Chinese food within an hour's drive.” Whether you dine in, take out, or cater your next event, Super Wok is a delightful chapter in the story of midwestern dining.
In conclusion, if you're in the Paxton area, don’t miss the opportunity to taste the offerings of Super Wok. It’s a place where culinary passion meets heartfelt service, and every visit guarantees a memorable experience. See you there!
“ The Dumplings are especially great . Their spicier options aren't terribly spicy but do have good flavor. Their shrimp is a really good size and quality. The portions are on the small side tho, so you may need to order more than you think ! ”
“ Very good food. Very nice. I love there beef and broccoli this place gives a lot of food ”
“ On the outside, you think it was closed, but once you open the door you can smell the food. Though the ambiance is extremely sparse, the young lady that greeted us was extremely friendly and attentive. Not much in the choice of drinks, but the fresh cooked to order and authentic tasting food more than made up for everything else. There was nothing we didn't like. ”
“ One of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to, including the ones in some big cities, which is surprising given that there is not much competition being in a small town. The food was different from some of the normal places, in a good way. I had the General Tso's chicken, and it was really flavorful; the sauce was more savory and less sweet than I have had from other places. We also had some of the crab rangoons, and similarly they were less sweet, letting more of the crab flavor come through. The egg rolls were pretty standard, but good. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back for sure! ”
“ Best Chinese food within an hour's drive. You have to understand that where these folks are at is the corn belt of the midwest. Chinese food might as well be Klingon food but they do it well-they do dumb it down for the midwest taste (too bad). ”
“ Pretty good Chinese. Far better than Rantoul's Chinese place and worth the drive. Definitely a 'no frills' place where you are eating off standard cheap tableware but really all I was looking for is good food and it had it. They seemed to have a nice list of specials as well. ”
“ By far the best Chinese around, I live in Rantoul its well worth the little drive up to Paxton. Might be better in C/U but I have not found it, and the nice little shop in Paxton is alot easier and a lot less people.Call ahead it will be ready to go when you walk in. ”
“ I had lunch here on a Tuesday. There were 3 or 4 other customers who came and went while I dined in. I am spoiled by great Asian food in Champaign, but this was surprisingly good for Paxton. They have all the very typical Szechuan dishes, with the place-mat style printed red & black paper menu identical to thousands of other fast Chinese places. The restaurant has photos on a menu board to assist people in ordering who are unfamiliar with Chinese dishes and there was a steam-table, not being used when I was there at lunch, so I don't know wheter a buffet is served at other times or on other days. I'm giving it 4 stars for surviving with a decent Asian choice in this white-bread Ford County town. ”
